Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf says Claudio Pizarro's foot injury is not as bad as the player feared.
Pizarro, who is Bremen's top scorer this season with eight goals, told the Bild newspaper that he had "a hole in my foot", but X-rays confirmed he had only sustained severe bruising.
"He took a knock and his foot has swollen a little, but I don't think that it is so bad," Schaaf said. "We will just have to wait and see."
Even if Pizarro misses Saturday's clash with Cologne, Schaaf can at least welcome Marko Arnautovic back from a three-game suspension.
"I am delighted that I don't have to sit in front of the television anymore and that I can now help the team on the field," Arnautovic told his club's website. "I have to give 100% in training and convince the coach to field me on Saturday."
