Lazio have ruled out any chance of Mauro Zarate joining another club on loan and say they will only consider a permanent offer, according to the player's agent.

Zarate is set to leave Lazio this summer following a rift with coach Edy Reja. Inter Milan are reportedly willing to sign Zarate on loan for the season while Arsenal have also been linked with the 24-year-old.

"I showed the proposal to Lazio president Claudio Lotito,'' said Zarate's agent Giuseppe Bozzo. "But he said the player will not leave the club on loan.

"They paid for Mauro over €21million and Lotito wants to get at least that amount.''

Lazio signed forwards Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse earlier this month and are now looking to offload some players before the new season. Zarate, who contributed nine goals in 35 league appearances for Lazio last season, is under contract until June 2014.
