Midfielder Kris Commons has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for tomorrow's friendly with Denmark with a foot injury.
Commons reported for Scotland duty wearing a protective boot on Monday before returning to Celtic's Lennoxtown training base for further treatment.
Celtic first-team coach Alan Thompson suggested the 27-year-old should miss the Hampden Park fixture with Denmark and Levein today announced the midfielder's withdrawal.
Commons' condition improved from Sunday into yesterday, but reassessment by Scotland's medical team last night led to his absence being confirmed.
Asked whether Commons would be available, Craig Levein said: "Unfortunately not - he becomes the third withdrawal. He's got bone bruising."
