Sebastien Frey has agreed a deal and will leave Fiorentina for Serie A rivals Genoa, subject to a medical.
Frey, 31, is one of Serie A's stalwarts and has agreed a five-year-contract, moving for an undisclosed fee.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Sebastien Frey will be the new goalkeeper of Il Grifone. President Enrico Preziosi has reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer of the French goalkeeper.
"The ratification of the deal will be completed next week after a medical. Frey was highly motivated to join the club and strongly wanted to be a member of Il Grifone, agreeing to reduce his wages, in order to re-start his career with Genoa."
Frey has previously appeared for Verona, Inter Milan and Parma before joining Fiorentina and has two international caps for France, though he is widely considered unfortunate to not have added to this tally.
