Digard, 25, has spent the last season and a half on loan at Nice and captained them during the 2010-11 campaign after failing to force his way into the Boro side.
The Frenchman joined Boro from Paris St Germain during the summer of 2008 when then manager Gareth Southgate invested £4 million in his services.
However, he managed just 32 league appearances for the club and scored one goal, in a 5-1 Carling Cup victory over Yeovil.
