Sanchez, 22, has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp all summer but discussions had stalled while he played for his country at the Copa America.

However, following Chile's quarter-final exit to Venezuela, negotiations have picked up again and Gino Pozzo has revealed that a deal has been done.

''The agreement with Barcelona for Alexis Sanchez is complete", he told Spanish radio station RAC1.

Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola said on Tuesday that Sanchez was the club's top transfer target, despite their interest in Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.

"Sanchez can play on all three positions up front, he works hard, good one-on-one, good guy. He's closest to what we look for," he said.

Sanchez scored 12 goals in 27 appearances in helping Udinese reach the Champions League last season, and the deal has been reported to be in the region of £27 millionn plus add-ons.
