Pellegrini, who led Real Madrid in the 2009-10 season, took charge of Malaga in November with the club sitting 18th in the table and secured an 11th-placed finish.

Two members of his coaching staff, Ruben Cousillas and Jose Cabello, have also extended their deals until 2015.

Much is expected for the new season at Malaga, with the big-spending club building on the foundations of their winter recruitment with the summer signings of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Joaquin Sanchez and Jeremy Toulalan.
