Malaga have continued their summer spending spree by agreeing terms with Lyon midfielder Jeremy Toulalan.

Club owner Sheikh Abdallah Ben Nasser Al-Thani, a member of the Qatari ruling family, has been busy this transfer window having already wrapped up the signings of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Nacho Monreal and Joris Mathijsen for Los Boquerones, and now has secured the services of the Frenchman Toulalan.

Malaga announced the move in a statement on their website: "The club have reached an agreement with the French side this morning for the midfielder Jeremy Toulalan to join Malaga."

"Toulalan, who has also reached an agreement with Malaga for the next four seasons, will sign his contract in the coming days and will be presented in the final week of the month."

The 27-year-old French midfielder has spent the last five seasons at the Stade de Gerland before arriving there from home-town club Nantes in 2006. He and his fellow Malaga newcomers are expected to challenge for a spot in Europe next season, after the south-coast club finished 11th in the La Liga table last year, just three points above the drop zone.
