PSV sporting director Marcel Brands has claimed that it is doubtful Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes will return to the Dutch giants this summer.

The PSV chief had previously stated that the Gomes was interested in rejoining the Dutch club and told reporters he would attempt to negotiate a deal with the North London club.

Despite Harry Redknapp's side having recently secured the signature of former Aston Villa keeper Brad Friedel, however, Brands has now admitted he does not anticipate Spurs allowing the 30-year-old Brazilian to walk away from White Hart Lane.

"I do not count on the arrival of Gomes," he told Voetbal International. "We have our first keeper Andreas Isaksson and Gomes is still the first goalkeeper for Tottenham Hotspur."

"There are no signs that this will change."

A handful of goalkeeping blunders this season have boosted speculation that Gomes could leave Spurs in the summer. His costly wages, however, could be standing in the way of his being reunited with PSV, the club he left to join Tottenham in the summer of 2008.
