Kenny Shiels has been confirmed as manager of Kilmarnock on a permanent basis.
Shiels, 55, took over as caretaker boss when Mixu Paatelainen quit the Ayrshire side in March. Shiels will be assisted in the role by fellow Northern Irishman Jimmy Nicholl and has been appointed on a one-season contract.
Chairman Michael Johnston said: "Kenny had a great season with us last year and has shown fantastic diligence and hard work, both through last season and after Mixu's departure. He's been working very hard in preparation for next season and has a lot of irons in the fire with players.
"I'm delighted to be able to confirm Kenny as manager and we look forward to a good season.''
Kilmarnock also confirmed the signing of Paul Heffernan on a three-year-deal and that Dundee's Gary Harkins is on the radar.
Speaking of his appointment, Shiels said: "I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'm thinking about next season. We have to have a plan where we bring in some experience.
"I want a good provision from the youth along with experience. Most of my thoughts are on getting good quality players in who can benefit the club and our system.''
