Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro has ruled out a move to Newcastle United, saying that he would prefer a move to Paris Saint-Germain or Valencia.
Newcastle, who are eager to spend some of the £35 million they received in January from Liverpool for striker Andy Carroll, had been keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old forward and reportedly have already agreed a fee with the French club. Gameiro, however, has his sights set elsewhere.
The Frenchman said shortly after an international match against Poland that he favours a move to Spain.
"I'll think about my future in the coming days," he told RMC Sport. "It will be Paris or Valencia. The two clubs are very good. I will calmly make my decision over the next days.
"I love both clubs. I have always been attracted to Spain. We will see what will happen. An agreement has yet to be made with Lorient."
Gameiro was Ligue 1's second top scorer last term finding the back of the net 22 times. He has made five appearances for the French national team and scored one goal.
