Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt has agreed a new four-year contract with the club.

Van Aanholt, 20, arrived at Stamford Bridge from PSV Eindhoven in 2007 and has made eight appearances for the Blues, scoring in the Carling Cup third-round defeat to Newcastle last September.

Van Aanholt, a Netherlands Under-21 international, spent the second half of this season on loan at Leicester, while he has also had loan spells at Coventry and Newcastle.
