A sixth successive season without a trophy at the Emirates Stadium has weakened manager Arsene Wenger's bargaining position and with other club's eyeing a move for Fabregas his future is uncertain.
The Spain midfielder, who is set to miss Sunday's match at Fulham with the thigh injury which has kept him out so far this month, has long been linked with a move away from Arsenal but Sagna expects his team-mate will stay.
Asked if he felt the Arsenal skipper would still be at the Emirates next term, Sagna said: "Of course. He is under contract with the team. He is still our captain.
"Unfortunately, he was injured, but he will be back soon. We need him badly because he is a good player, he is very talented and everyone knows what he can bring to the team.
"So I am looking forward to playing with him next year.''
Sagna himself has also been the subject of speculation linking him with a summer move to Bayern Munich. His agent Christophe Mongai insisted on Wednesday that he has had no contact with the Bavarian giants or any other club, but stopped short of ruling out a move altogether.
"Bacary is an Arsenal player, he is under contract,'' Mongai told Bild. "For the moment, there has been no discussion with other clubs. I am not in contact with Bayern Munich. That's a fact.''
