Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has dismissed suggestions that he could leave the club following a prolific debut season with the Serie A side.
Cavani has scored 25 league goals for the title challengers since a transfer from Palermo and his eye-catching performances have seen him linked with a move to Real Madrid.
However, the Uruguay international, who has won the hearts of Napoli's passionate support, says he has no intention of leaving Walter Mazzarri's side at present.
"I will not change agent or club. I am staying at Napoli. The rest is just stupid things," he is quoted as saying by Sportmediaset.it.
Cavani returns to his former club Palermo on Saturday as Napoli aim to cut Milan's six-point lead at the top of Serie A, and Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini says his former player will remain at Stadio San Paolo.
He said: "Cavani had a very good contract before he left but if Napoli managed to hold onto (Diego) Maradona in the past then I don't think they'll have any problems keeping Edinson."
