Roma defender Philippe Mexes says he will "probably" be heading for Milan at the end of the season.
Mexes' contract with Roma expires in the summer and a number of clubs are keen to secure his signature.
The France international, who is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury, said he is intent on leaving Rome despite his feelings about the club and the city, with Milan his preferred destination.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport:"I don't think I will be staying at Roma, I will be going elsewhere. AC Milan? There has been a lot of talk about such a move and I will probably go there.
"After seven years in Rome I am very close to the city, the fans and the club. My son was born in Rome and I feel Roman.
"Football is like this, though, and I have to make the best decision for myself. Whatever happens I will never find another team like Roma, not in Italy nor abroad."
