Fabregas misses out due to illness

February 7, 2011

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has withdrawn from Spain's squad for their friendly against Colombia on Wednesday.

Fabregas informed the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) that he is suffering from an upset stomach and will remain in London rather than linking up with the squad.

The world and European champions will not call up a replacement player for the clash at Real Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium.

Arsenal team-mate Robin van Persie has also pulled out of international duty this week due to illness.
