Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila says he has no intention of moving abroad just to sit on the bench of one of Europe's big clubs, amid reported interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

M'Vila, 20, has emerged as one of Ligue 1's star performers this season, with the dynamic box-to-box midfielder helping to inspire Rennes' surprise title challenge.

His impressive displays have also seen him establish himself as a key member of Laurent Blanc's France set-up, and some of Europe's biggest clubs are thought to be monitoring the in-demand youngster.

But despite being linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, M'Vila says he would rather move to French giants Lyon or Marseille as he fears a transfer abroad could ruin his career should he be regularly used as a substitute.

"I don't want to go abroad to be a substitute," M'Vila told Surface magazine. "It would be a waste of time, even though financially it would be great. I don't want to have too much hassle like that and become a flop.

"Of course there are teams that are interested in France, like Marseille and Lyon, who could be a springboard for me to other clubs."
