Adelaide United concede captain Travis Dodd could join A-League rivals Perth Glory.Dodd is understood to be favouring a three-year deal with the Glory after contract talks with Adelaide broke down.Adelaide coach Rini Coolen said the Reds "did more than everything to keep him"."We had a lot of good conversations about that but the player decides if he wants to stay, yes or no," Coolen said on Tuesday."So it's his decision."Coolen met with Dodd on Tuesday morning but did not know the 30-year-old's intentions."I actually don't know," he said."We respect everyone, we respect him, he's our captain."He's coming back from a big injury, he's getting better and better, he's not 100 per cent fit still."We started (negotiations) with him ... because he is the captain a couple of months ago, and we did it also a couple of weeks ago."But we have to respect all situations." ... We tried everything to keep him here, maybe he changed his mind, I don't know what is going to happen."But it's his decision and we have to respect his decision."Dodd will play for third-placed Adelaide when they host cellar dweller North Queensland on Friday night. The Reds expect goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic to return from a month-long absence with a wrist injury, while former Dutch international Andwele Slory could make his debut for Adelaide. And speedy attacker Matthew Leckie is also a chance to play his first game since tearing the medial ligament in his left knee in late October.
