Godoy Cruz moved up to fourth in the Argentinian Apertura table with a 2-1 home win over 10-man Banfield.

The home side quickly established a two-goal lead with goals from David Ramirez (10) and Carlos Sanchez (15).

Banfield's hopes of getting back into the contest faded when they had Mauro Dos Santos sent off just before the break.

Banfield substitute Gabriel Mendez scored a last-minute consolation, but it arrived too late to alter the result.
