Barcelona wing-back Adriano has been ruled out of Wednesday's Champions League match with Rubin Kazan because of a thigh injury.

The Brazil international, a summer signing from Sevilla, was replaced just after half-time in Saturday night's win over Athletic Bilbao.

It remains to be seen if Adriano will be fit for Barca's league match with Real Mallorca next weekend.

Lionel Messi, meanwhile, continued his recovery from his ankle injury but there is no confirmation yet on whether the Argentinian, who has missed Barca's last two matches, will be able to face Rubin.
