Gibbs had to be withdrawn during extra time of Arsenal's 4-1 Carling Cup victory over Tottenham, and after the game Arsene Wenger expressed concern that the player may have suffered a broken metatarsal.
However, a statement on Arsenal's official website on Wednesday read: "A scan to Kieran Gibbs' foot has shown there is no fracture. Kieran has suffered severe bruising to his left foot and will hopefully only be missing from first-team action for the short term."
Arsenal have already suffered a number of injury problems this season with Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby, Thomas Vermaelen and Cesc Fabregas all spending time on the sidelines.
