Genoa president Enrico Preziosi insists Gian Piero Gasperini will remain as coach despite levying criticism at him after his team's 3-1 home defeat to Chievo at the weekend.
The setback left Genoa with three points from their first two games.
However, Preziosi told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I don't sack coaches, especially after two rounds of games played.
"I just expressed my opinion (after the game) regarding certain tactical decisions that were taken by the coach and which I wasn't in agreement with. But that is all.
"Gasperini remains the coach. I have confidence in him and I just don't change my mind after one bad game.''
Gasperini has been in charge of the Grifoni since 2006 and led the club to promotion to Italy's top flight in his first season with the team. Genoa, who won their Serie A opener 1-0 at Udinese, travel to Parma on Sunday.
