Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has been ruled out of Netherlands' Euro 2012 qualifier against Finland with a shoulder problem.

Oranje coach Bert van Marwijk claimed that Kuyt, who scored the opening goal in Netherlands' 5-0 rout of San Marino on Friday, had "strained and possibly torn ligaments in his shoulder" after falling awkwardly during training.

And Van Marwijk revealed that he expected the injury to rule the 30-year-old out for a few weeks.

"He will probably have a few weeks off and at 4pm today he will step on to the plane to Liverpool", Van Marwijk told De Telegraaf on Monday.
