Carragher to sign new contract within two weeks
Jamie Carragher has revealed he expects to sign a new two-year Liverpool contract within the next fortnight.

A testimonial will be held at Anfield on Saturday to mark Carragher's service to the club, where he has won every domestic and European trophy other than the Premier League. The testimonial will see Merseyside neighbours Everton take on their red counterparts.
At 32 years of age Carragher admits he is in the twilight of his career, stating on Thursday that he is desperate to win another trophy before he retires, but he plans to play at least two more seasons before hanging up his boots.
The Liverpool vice-captain watched with interest as Raul Meireles and Paul Konchesky made late arrivals through the Anfield entrance door towards the end of the transfer window, and now that the summer signing period is over, he intends to put pen to paper on a new deal.
"I have spoken to the managing director, Christian Purslow, and we've had a good chat about the new contract," Carragher was quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.
"I'm sure it will happen. The most important thing was for the club to get the ins and out sorted before the transfer deadline.
"That's done now so I'm sure we will have something sorted out in the next week or two."
