Ibrahimovic will join AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season, with the Italian side having the option to buy him for €24 million. Problems between the Swede and Guardiola have come to light since the negotiations began and Ibrahimovic has now slammed his former coach for wasting his time.

"When I walk into a room, [Pep] Guardiola will walk out,'' he told journalists. ''I don't know if he is scared of me.

"He is the philosopher who has broken my dream of being at Barcelona. The coach did not want me and I will not waste any more time. I want to retrieve my love of football with another team. I leave with more motivation and the strength to do better. In football, things can change within 24 hours."

Asked what the reasons for the breakdown in the relationship between himself and Guardiola was, Ibrahimovic said: "You need to talk to him, it is he who has the problem, and I do not know what it is. I am very happy, because I am going to Milan."
