Stokes, 22, was Hibs' top scorer last season and, with reports Fortune will return to West Brom on Friday in a £2.25 million deal, there is the possibility of a swoop before the close of the transfer window.
Asked about Stokes, who is rated at around £1 million, Lennon said: "He is an option and is a player we like."
Celtic are also said to be keen on Hapoel Tel Aviv attacker Itay Shechter, who is said to be valued at £2.5 million. The Scottish Sun claims the Hoops have already made contact and hope to tie up a deal over the weekend.
