West Ham boss Avram Grant could be about to step in and hijack Wigan's plans to sign French midfielder Sekou Baradji, who has been on trial at the DW Stadium.

Baradji, 26, has been on with the Latics for three weeks and was part of their squad for the recent tour of Austria.
Manager Roberto Martinez is believed to have been impressed with Baradji but has yet to make the Paris-born player a formal offer.
That has alerted Grant, who tried to sign Baradji last season when he was at Portsmouth. Baradji has been signed by West Ham once before, in 2005, but did not make an appearance for the Hammers as he immediately left for Reading on loan before being released.
