Hart spent the 2009-10 campaign with Birmingham City and was named in the PFA's Premier League Team of the Season.

With fellow goalkeeper Shay Given expected to miss the start of the new season, Hart returned to Eastlands as the interim number one. But Given has recovered from his shoulder problem ahead of schedule and Mancini now has two top quality keepers to start the new season with.

It was suggested that Hart would be farmed out again, with Sunderland declaring an interest, but Mancini wants to keep the 23-year-old at the City of Manchester Stadium.

"In this moment we have two good goalkeepers and one will play and one will stay on the bench," Mancini told the Daily Telegraph. "We play many games, a lot of games, in one year - three games every week - so we could play both goalkeepers.

"I have an idea who will play in goal but I have one week more to decide. It is important if there's an injury to a goalkeeper. If we don't have another good one, then that will be a problem."
