Widespread reports in Belgium suggest Alkmaar are resigned to losing forward Moussa Dembele.

Dembele is in the last year of his contract at AZ and there is broad interest in the player. Fiorentina have made an official approach but, amid interest from Birmingham, Dembele has indicated he would prefer a move to England.

"The Premier League is the strongest league in the world," he said. "I know I can be successful in a big league.

"Birmingham City is the most concrete option, but other clubs have also showed an interest. I have waited for more options and now I have to look at pros and cons. I would like to decide by next week but in my head I have a preference."
