Hart spent last year at Birmingham with Shay Given occupying the goalkeeper's spot at Eastlands but has returned to City for the new season.

A strring of impressive displays last season led to a call-up to England's World Cup squad, and while Hart says he is ready to fight Given for the number one jersey, he admits the prospect of sitting on the bench is unappetising.

"It doesn't really interest me if I'm honest, I've played a lot of football now and that's all I want to do,'' he told Five Live's Sportsweek. "At the moment all I'm doing is playing football in the first team.''

Asked whether he would consider another loan move, Hart said: "It wouldn't be up to me, Manchester City are in charge of me at the moment but if I wasn't playing, I suppose I would have to reconsider.''

  • City crash to Inter defeat

Patrick Vieira was sent off as Manchester City completed their American tour with a 3-0 defeat to European champions Inter Milan.

The former France midfielder lasted just 21 minutes against his former club before being shown a straight red card for a clash with Marco Materazzi.

Rafael Benitez's side capitalised on their numerical advantage to run out comfortable winners in Baltimore.

Victor Obinna opened the scoring via a deflection off Micah Richards and an own goal from Joleon Lescott doubled the Nerazzurri's lead before Cristiano Biraghi sealed matters.

Striker Mario Balotelli, heavily linked with a move to Eastlands this summer, was not part of the Inter squad.

City boss Roberto Mancini was absent for the friendly against his former club, having flown back to Italy to be with his ill father.
