Paraguay striker Nelson Valdez says he has offers from Sunderland and Fulham this summer, but his preference is to move to the Spanish Primera Liga.

Valdez caught the eye during the World Cup finals in South Africa and says he is ready to leave Borussia Dortmund in search of a sunnier climate. As such, it is no surprise that he appears ready to snub interest from the Premier League and pursue a career in La Liga.

"I'd prefer to go to Spain," Valdez told Bild. "I have been in Germany for nine years now and the country has become my adopted home. My children were born here. But I am not going to move within the Bundesliga, I can no longer stand the cold! I like Spain and from there I have received the most flattering offer.

"Should it turn out to be England in the end, I will be moving either to Sunderland or Fulham."

It is reported that Hercules have made an offer for Valdez, but the promoted club are yet to agree terms with Dortmund.

"In principle both parties have agreed to move Nelson on," Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc said. "But it is a fact we are not going to allow him a transfer that does not reflect his value. We do not need to discuss a transfer if there is no suitable offer."
