McSheffrey agrees Coventry move

June 21, 2010

Birmingham winger Gary McSheffrey is to join Championship side Coventry when his contract at St Andrew's expires on June 30.

McSheffrey, 27, began his career with the Sky Blues and returns to a club he played for between 1998 and 2006, before going on to make 96 appearances and score 20 goals for Birmingham.

He found it difficult to force his way into the team after their return to the Premier League and spent spells on loan at Nottingham Forest and Leeds.

Coventry have agreed a one year contract with McSheffrey and Birmingham manager Alex McLeish said: "We wish Gary all the best. He did well for us and hopefully he can recapture the form of a couple of years ago when we signed him from Coventry."
