Del Neri left his role at Samp earlier this week after leading the club to Champions League qualification and will be aiming to turn around Juve's fortunes after an appaling season saw them finish seventh in Serie A.

Although Del Neri could have taken part in the Champions League with Sampdoria next season, the chance to manage one of Europe's biggest club has proved too alluring.

Under Alberto Zaccheroni, who replaced sacked Ciro Ferrara earlier this year, the Turin giants endured a dismal run, losing four of their last seven games to ensure they finished seventh.

A statement from Juventus read: "Luigi Del Neri is the new coach of Juventus. The coach has signed today a contract with Juve for two seasons, until June 30, 2012.

"(Beppe) Marotta who becomes the new general director of sport, has signed a contract until June 30, 2013 and will report to club administrator Jean Claude Blanc.''

Del Neri, who is Juve's fourth coach in three years, will be unveiled on Thursday in Vinovo.
