FA Trophy final

Barrow beat nine-man Stevenage

May 8, 2010

Jason Walker hit a dramatic extra-time winner as Barrow came from behind to clinch a 2-1 victory over Stevenage in an incident-packed FA Trophy final at Wembley.

Stevenage hit the front after just 10 minutes when Andrew Drury fired home from the edge of the area, but the Hertfordshire club found themselves up against it when David Bridges saw red for a challenge on Andy Bond after 28 minutes.

Lee McEvilly fired home Barrow's equaliser 11 minutes from the end to force extra time, while Barrow themselves were reduced to 10 men when Robin Hulbert was dismissed by referee Lee Probert for swinging an elbow at Charlie Griffin.

Griffin was unable to continue after the clash with Hulbert, leaving the Conference champions to contest extra time with just nine men, and the pressure eventually told after 107 minutes when Walker fired home to seal Barrow's first FA Trophy win for 20 years.
