Carlo Ancelotti admits Manchester United are likely to be a bigger threat in the Premier League after their European exit.

Chelsea currently lead the table by two points after victory at Old Trafford last weekend and, with only five games left to play, they remain firm favourites to take the title.

However, United will now be able to fully focus on the league after going out of the Champions League to Bayern Munich on Wednesday and Ancelotti feels that could prove a problem for Chelsea.

"It is not good news they are out of the Champions League because they will be focused on the Premier League and we have to pay attention because they are close to us," he said.

"They have the experience to stay focused on the Premier League because they have experience and quality.

"I would have preferred for Manchester United to have beaten Bayern Munich and stayed in the Champions League because it would be easier for us.

"United had a bad week. They lost the quarter-final and they lost against us. Now they have the possibility to come back against us and play well and win."

United face Blackburn in the Premier League on Sunday and could return to the summit as Chelsea will play their FA Cup semi-final with Aston Villa on Saturday.
