Coupe de la Ligue: Bordeaux power into final

February 17, 2010

Bordeaux powered into the final of the Coupe de la Ligue with a 4-1 win at 10-man Lorient.

The league leaders will meet old rivals Marseille in the league cup showpiece after an impressive performance in Brittany.

After Lorient went in front through Laurent Koscielny after 10 minutes, the goalscorer was sent off 12 minutes later by Clement Turpin. That aided Bordeaux's comeback as Wendel converted the resulting penalty and on the half-hour mark Marouane Chamakh gave the visitors the lead.

Wendel made it 3-1 nine minutes from time before substitute Yoan Gouffran added the gloss.

Meanwhile, Marco Ramos struck in extra-time to send Lens into the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France at the expense of Brest.

The Ligue 1 strugglers made hard work of their progress, however. After Adil Hermach's 29th-minute opener had given them the lead, the visitors clawed their way back through Nolan Roux in the 57th minute.

However, Ramos struck 10 minutes into extra-time to earn his side a narrow win and extend their participation in the cup.
