The 18-year-old has been heralded as one of England and Arsenal's stars of the future, having represented England at every level except as a full international. Bolton boss Owen Coyle had tried to loan him while still manager at Burnley but will now have the use of the young tyros' services at the Reebok Stadium.

"Jack is a talented, young, hungry player who I think has got a really bright future," said Coyle, who also recently signed Manchester City's Vladimir Weiss on loan. "It is similar to the deal with Vladimir in terms of the belief that I can help the player, and the player can help this club. The deals suit all parties concerned if the boys go out and deliver on the pitch."

Wilshere became the youngest player ever to represent Arsenal when he took to the field against Blackburn in September 2008, aged 16 years and 256 days. He has since made 15 appearances for the Gunners, scoring one goal against Sheffield United in last season's Carling Cup.
