Tottenham are on the brink of signing Eidur Gudjohnsen - and Portsmouth defender Younes Kaboul could be joining the Monaco forward in moving to White Hart Lane.

Gudjohnsen was at Tottenham's training ground on Thursday to put the finishing touches to his loan move after having turned his back on West Ham despite undergoing a medical at Upton Park.
Reports also indicate that Tottenham are closing in on the signing of their former defender Kaboul, who left Spurs to join Portsmouth in the summer of 2008 after failing to fully convince during his one season at White Hart Lane.
Kaboul has blossomed at Fratton Park though and Harry Redknapp, who signed the player for Pompey, is now in talks to bring the Frenchman back to Tottenham.
Portsmouth are in financial trouble and would welcome a cash injection for the sale of Kaboul, who is one of their most valuable assets.
If Kaboul does sign for Spurs then he will join Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Pascal Chimbonda - who has since joined Blackburn - in returning to the club since the appointment of Redknapp.
