Paolucci thrilled to make return to Juventus

January 16, 2010

Siena striker Michele Paolucci is delighted to be back at Juventus after completing his return to the Stadio Olimpico on loan until the end of the season.

Paolucci progressed through the ranks at Juve but never played for their first team and left in 2006, first on loan to Ascoli before moving to Udinese in a co-ownership deal with the Turin outfit the following term.

Juve have always maintained their interest in the young striker, who extended his contract with the Italian giants until 2013 two years ago, and they bought back Udinese's share of the player last summer although they then immediately initiated another co-ownership deal with Siena.

However, with the Bianconeri facing somewhat of an injury crisis in attack, Paolucci has returned to Turin and could finally make his Juve debut tomorrow at Chievo.

"I have great memories here,'' he told Juventus Channel. "Coming into the city was immediately wonderful and I even found it better than how I left it. It would be nice also because in the many years which I spent here I never had the chance to make my debut with the first team.

"When I left here I was little more than a boy. Now I have several years of Serie A and several matches under my belt. I think the experience around Italy helped me to be more ready and motivated.''

Paolucci will find several familiar faces among his new team-mates, having played with Sebastian Giovinco, Claudio Marchisio, and Paolo De Ceglie in the youth team.

The 23-year-old is looking to impress during his loan spell to earn a permanent place alongside them.

Paolucci added: "It is a happiness in the happiness, because with them I shared so many victories and many joys. I'm glad to have rejoined them and I will try to deserve something more than these four months.

"I have followed this goal since I was a little boy, but I want this to be a starting point. At the end of the season I will be happy if I've scored some important goals to help this team.''

Paolucci also had loan deals with Atalanta and Catania during his two-year spell with Udinese.
