Diego Maradona will resume his Argentina coaching duties after a two-month FIFA ban for insulting reporters by visiting his team's World Cup base in Pretoria.

Maradona completed the suspension on Friday after being sanctioned for lewd comments he made to journalists in Montevideo after Argentina qualified for the tournament in South Africa with a 1-0 away win over Uruguay in October.

An Argentine Football Association delegation, headed by Maradona, will travel to South Africa's capital on Sunday to visit the University of Pretoria where the squad will be based during the June 11-July 11 finals, the AFA said on its website.

Maradona directed his comments at Argentine media who had criticised his team's performances and his coaching and selection policy during the South American qualifiers in which Argentina played poorly and struggled to get through.

During his suspension, Maradona missed the December 4 draw in Cape Town. Argentina were drawn in Group B with South Korea, Nigeria and Greece, teams he faced as a player in the opening rounds of the 1986 and 1994 World Cups.
