It is thought that Dynamo will pay £2 million for Voronin and Dynamo director of sports Konstantin Sarsania confirmed on the Russian club's official website that the player has agreed terms on a deal.

"The transfer of Andriy Voronin can be considered accomplished," he said. "The clubs reached an agreement and the player signed a contract for three years. We are delighted that such a strong player has joined Dinamo and we hope he can help solve the team's problems.''

Voronin had returned to Anfield in the summer after a successful loan spell at Hertha Berlin last season, but he has made little impact and says he is delighted to be heading to Russia.

"I had options in both in Germany and in Russia, but I've chosen Dynamo," he said. "I was pleased with the professional approach of Dynamo officials during the talks.

"Also I talked to Dynamo's head coach Andrey Kobelev, with whom I share similar view of football. I've talked to many of my friends, and I've heard nothing negative about the Russian championship."
