Benfica midfielder Freddy Adu has revealed he has signed an 18-month loan deal with Aris, ending speculation he could complete a move to Hull.

Adu, 20, wrote on his Twitter feed this week to say he was choosing between offers from Aris and Hull but later said his preference was to secure regular first-team football to aid his development, and he has now sealed a deal to the Greek club.

The USA international wrote on Twitter: "Alright guys done deal. Signed an 18-month loan deal with Aris FC. A lot of thought and research went into this. Thanks for the support."

A statement on the club's website read: "Aris FC announces the agreement with the American soccer player Freddy Adu from Benfica on a loan until [June 2011 with] an option [to] buy."
