Angola coach Manuel Jose is sweating on the fitness of key striker Flavio ahead of their African Nations Cup opener against Mali on Sunday.
The Al-Shabab forward, who has more than 80 caps for his country, hurt his leg during the 1-1 draw in a warm-up match against Gambia at the weekend and faces a race against time to be fit for the clash in Luanda.
The hosts are already facing the possibility of playing without their main defensive midfielder Stelvio after he picked up an injury against Estonia last month.
''It is my big concern that Flavio recovers and is available to play against Mali,'' Jose said. ''He and Stelvio are important to our starting line-up. This is because we don't have any stars in our team and need everyone to be fit.''
Jose's side are in Group A for the January 10-31 competition, alongside the Malians, Algeria and Malawi.
