Netherlands defender Gregory van der Wiel is committed to Ajax despite being monitored by Premier League side Manchester City, according to his agent.
Van Der Wiel, 21, became a regular in the Ajax side last season under Marco van Basten and also broke into the national side, and his agent, Hakim Slimani, claims Manchester City are weighing up an approach for the full-back.
"There is no official contact between Ajax and Manchester City," he told Voetbal International, "but I cannot deny that his performance has been closely followed by Manchester City."
Slimani insists, though, that Van Der Wiel is committed to seeing out his contract in Amsterdam, which has three years left to run.
"That's why Greg is not concerned with a transfer to another club," he said. "He's just broken through last season. This season, he has set himself the target of being a major player for Ajax."
