Braga have returned to the top of the Portuguese Liga with a 2-0 win over Uniao Leiria. Paulo Cesar opened the scoring after six minutes and substitute Nascimento Matheus made sure of the points with the second 21 minutes from time.

Braga move back above Benfica into first place with 28 points, two more than the Lisbon giants.

Benfica moved ahead of Braga by one point with their 0-0 draw away to Sporting Lisbon on Saturday but now they trail Braga, who have conceded just five goals in 11 matches so far this season.
