South Africa clash with Japan moved to Jo'burg

October 14, 2009

Japan's friendly against 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa next month has been moved from Durban to Johannesburg due to stadium construction delays.

The November 14 game was to be played at Durban's 70,000-seat Moses Mabhida Stadium but had been switched as building at the World Cup venue was behind schedule, the Japan Football Association said.

The game will now be played at Johannesburg's Orlando Stadium, which is not one of the city's two World Cup venues. Japan qualified for the World Cup finals by securing one of Asia's four automatic berths.
