Socceroos defender Chris Coyne will captain Perth Glory in Friday night's A-League clash with Adelaide United at ME Bank Stadium.

Coyne will wear the skipper's armband due to the absence of regular captain Jacob Burns, who is serving a one-match ban after accumulating his fifth yellow card of the season last week.

Coyne's brother, Jamie Coyne, captained Perth Glory last season but was stripped of the role after his form tapered.

Meanwhile, Perth Glory coach Dave Mitchell confirmed striker Branko Jelic, who has netted four goals this season, will regain his place in the starting XI at the expense of Eugene Dadi.
