The Spanish football league (LFP) have ordered Deportivo Coruna to allow the transfer of midfielder Angel Lafita to Real Zaragoza, the two clubs have said in statements.
Deportivo had argued the deal should not go through because their La Liga rivals did not pay their stated fee of €3.5 million plus sales tax.
Promoted Zaragoza, who exercised a buy-back option just before the transfer window closed on August 31, say the €2 million they deposited with the LFP was the amount agreed in the contract between the two clubs.
"The league have not answered the real question, which is the financial one," Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro said on the club website. "It can be taken for granted he is a Zaragoza player, but what is being disputed is the cost of the move."
Lendoiro added Deportivo would appeal the decision and stressed that Lafita would still not be able to train with his new team until the issue was resolved.
