WASHINGTON -- D.C. United defender Marc Burch is recovering from surgery to remove scar tissue from his ankle.

Burch is expected to miss two to three weeks. He has played in 22 games this year and scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 2-2 tie with FC Dallas.

The team also announced Tuesday that defender Dejan Jakovic had hernia surgery in Germany and is expected to be out two to three weeks.
