Hamilton sign Antoine-Curier on loan from Dundee

September 2, 2009

Hamilton have completed the loan signing of Dundee striker Mickael Antoine-Curier.

The 26-year-old Guadeloupe international, who is Accies' 13th summer capture, will stay at New Douglas Park until January 1.

Hamilton boss Billy Reid had been looking to bolster his forward line since selling Richard Offiong to Carlisle last week.

Reid has also signed 17-year-old Rangers goalkeeper Gary Inglis on loan for the season. Inglis will be part of Accies' Under-19 squad.

The club confirmed they were still working up to today's 5pm transfer deadline to add another first-team player to the squad.

That could well be Derry City defender Kevin Deery, who has been linked with a move to Hamilton but whose current club had been reluctant to let him leave before his contract ends in November.

Meanwhile, Luis Rubiales has left New Douglas Park only two weeks after arriving from Alicante.

The club confirmed the Spanish defender was allowed to return home for the sake of his young family.

Family concerns were also behind the departure of fellow defender Izzy Iriekpen, who had his contract cancelled by mutual consent just over a month after signing a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old claims the move to Accies resulted in significant "hardship'' for his family, and manager Reid agreed to let him leave.

It is the second time Iriekpen has turned his back on Hamilton. He was on the brink of joining them during the January transfer window, only to change his mind at the last minute and sign for Bristol City.

The U-turn angered Reid but that did not prevent the Accies boss coming back in for the player when he was released by the Robins this summer.
